Whenever I interview candidates for different job positions, the question that usually arises is that of, “what do you know about us” This is not the question that you are going to find the answers in the company’s job advertisement that you applied.
For you to answer this in a comprehensive manner, it means that you’ve gone out of your way to do some research. What I find common with most of the candidates is that, they start talking about vision and mission of the company which I don’t think you have impact with the interviewer. This is because any one can go on their website and memorize those facts. Also, even you; if I asked the vision and mission of your current place of work, I’m not so sure if you remember, because this is not something that every day people wake up in the morning, report to the office, then flip their appointment letters and ask themselves what is the c

ompany’s vision and mission.
However, there are things you can mentioned about the employer that will make the interviewer know, well! This person is up to date and they’ve gone out of their way to get to know us better and you don’t just apply for any job that comes your way.
First, make sure you’ve done good research on the management, either on their website or any reliable source. Then you can answer by mentioning the accurate names of the directors, HR manager and head of departments etc.
Two, talk about their products and services. If you have used them mention that too. The employer will know, not only do you know they exist but you have an intimate knowledge of who they are. For example, assuming is the big Telcome interviewing you, you can say; I’m actually your subscriber and I use ABC of your product, and I think you can improve it in 123 ways.
Thirdly, if the company has been in the news lately is good to mentioned. You can say, I saw you launched a new product or you are supporting an this initiative, and I think you are doing a commendable job.
In addition, talk of where they are located, both the headquarters and their branches.
Finally, assuming the organisation has been in the public domain for negative reasons, I’ll advise you not to touch on that! Neither should you state that a politician referred you there nor you have a relative who works there. This may be a drawback for you.
I’m confident you’ve been sharpen, comment with other tips and follow for more tips weekly.
